THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT DENTAL IMPLANTS

What is a Dental Implant?

A Dental implant acts as a tooth root and is placed at the place of an artificial tooth. It looks like a screw made from Titanium alloy, a bio-friendly material. Dental implants can be used for the replacement of any number of teeth. The implant is surgically screwed in the jawbone, in order to form a stable base on which the artificial tooth can be placed. As time passes by, the bone cells develop around the implant and this process promotes the embedding in the jawbone, followed by the integration. Dentists need these products to place a dental crown whose characteristics are identical to a natural tooth.

Dental Implants – the perfect solution!

The implants are screwed into the bone through a surgical intervention by using a local anaesthesia, just as if taking part in an all-day dental treatment. The long studies and experiments demonstrate a 98% success rate.

Implantation failure or partial absorption can happen for different reasons. Such can be for example the health condition of the patient that can prevent the success of the implant; or a lack of willingness to cooperate on the patient’s side, drugs consumption, bad mouth hygiene, psychological problems, chronic alcoholism, and other problems related to bone density and teeth quality.

Dental implants are extremely useful, but not for any price and are not suitable for everyone.

Before making a decision, consult your dentist.

More than a hundred thousand people use the SGS Dental implants worldwide. They are approved by the FDA in the United-States and the CE in Europe.

Our products fulfil the requirements of the most stringent international regulations. SGS Dental Implants offer a solution for every situation – and you can finally radiate with your snow-white teeth, behind which, of course, lies a new self-confidence.

Ask your dentist if implants can also be a solution for you! Dental implants are a success but not at any cost and not for everybody. Consult your dentist before embarking on the procedure.

THE DIAGNOSTIC – During the preliminary examination, the dentist checks the position of the blood vein and the condition of the bone. Based on the Panoramic Dental X-Ray and the CT-Scan, the length, width, and place in the bone of the most frequently used implants is determined.

PLACING THE IMPLANTS
At the dental clinic, the implant is inserted into the jawbone under particular sterile conditions and local anaesthetic. This lasts for less than an hour.

HEALING
After 3 to 6 weeks, when the operated wound surface area is healed and the implant is fused with the bone, the implant is opened.

REHABILITATION
In this phase, the crown is placed on the implant. Several weeks have to pass by in order to reach the desired result.

It Looks and Feels Like a Natural Tooth

A dental implant is an atrificial tooth root that replaces a missing tooth. It looks like a screw and is made of titanium alloy, a biofriendly material. Dental implants are used to replace one or several missing teeth. They are surgically placed in the jawbone to create the basis on which the prosthetic teeth will be built. In time, bone cells develop around the implant, reinforcing it into the jaw and fusing it with the surrounding bone. Dentists use implants to make crowns that have the same appearance and texture as natural teeth.
Dental implants – the perfect solution! As opposed to bridgework (partial or complete over dentures), which used to be the solution of choice for the treatment of missing teeth, dental implants do not move and do not damage adjacent, healthy teeth. According to scientific studies, 85% of people who have had bridgework done feel that their dentures are uncomfortable and do not function well on a day-to-day basis

IMPLANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Successful oral surgery depends on keeping the oral cavity as clean as possible.
  • You can start cleaning your teeth as normal starting from the evening of the day of surgery.
  • Avoid brushing the surgical area for a few days, but once the tenderness eases, you can carefully begin to clean this area with a toothbrush as well.
  • Try to keep food away from the surgical area for as long as possible. Rinse frequently after eating to keep the area clean.
  • You are advised not to smoke until the wound has been healed, as smoking severely limits healing in the mouth.
